Lotus Blanc
The lotus is a sacred flower in Cambodia and a piece of symbolism that has grown in significance to me as I have grown. Combining something as western as the suit and Southeast Asian as the lotus sparked my curiosity and prompted me to create these garments.
The symbolism of the lotus, meaning enlightenment and regeneration was important to me in designing the garments. Everything was deliberate, from the lapel shaped like a lotus leaf to relaxed tailoring with careful curvature of the seams to imitate the lotus. No detail of the construction was overlooked, such as hand interfacing and fully lining the jacket.

Draped on a dress form then taken off to pattern and cut. The top piece required lots of handwork and inter-structuring. The collar and sleeve extension is one entire piece that starts at the back neck twists into the pit then integrates into the sleeve.
Collaboration is a huge piece of how I work and fortunate to know amazing photographers, footwear designers, and jewelers. The footwear was created by Todd who did a fantastic job in creating footwear that was modern but referenced traditional Khmer footwear. The buttons were enameled copper made by hand by Mary Fissell.
